Best Beach Shelter
Posted BY Ian
A best Beach shelter needs to be: light and easy to carry; quick to set up; a shield against the sun and wind; and a place to change with some privacy. Fortunately, beach shelters are inexpensive and so there's no great need to consider price. If you want one at all then you may as well get the best. To my mind, the best thought out beach shelter is the Coleman Sundome. This has an unusual shape for the ground sheet.; that is, until you realize that the top zips down to give you some security for your things whilst off swimming (or whatever). The angles are not to steep and so ... Continued
Best 2 person mountain tent

I looked at the Qualities of a best mountain tent recently. I concluded by saying that you need to do a great deal of research and then decide based on your intended style of mountaineering. My opinions for a limited range of styles follow below. The classic mountain tent There is one classic tent in the 2-person mountain tent category against which all other tents must compete. Terra Nova Quasar This geodesic tent uses 4 poles to achieve a particularly strong and stable structure. There are no flat surfaces to hold snow or to fight against the wind, and yet there is a comfortable ... Continued
Best 5 person, 2 Second Tent

I will keep looking for alternatives but at the moment the only contender I have in this category is the Gelert Twister 5. No problem; it's a great tent for car touring with the family. This tent has a maximum height of 1.88m and a ground area of over 11m2, making it spacious enough for most 2 + 2 families. You won't find an easier large tent to pitch, nor to pack away. If you are looking for convenience then this is your tent. The fine touches haven't been forgotten. The Twister 5 offers good ventilation and sufficient guy lines to keep your tent stable. The fabric is rated to ... Continued
Best Bothy Bag

I said a little about the bothy bag in my article on emergency shelters. This article will go into a little more depth and choose the best bothy bag for each size of group. More about bothy bags Generally, manufacturers have concentrated on sizes for 2, 4 and 8 occupants. I will use the same classification but with the following clarification: These sizes assume adults and are quite generous. You can often squeeze in one more adult If you are taking children then, obviously, the head count can go up even higher You can normally put bags and other equipment in the middle and all sit ... Best 4 person 2 Second Tent

If you read my review of Tent Suppliers: 2 Second Tents you'll know that I favour the Gelert range. The Gelert Quick Pitch DS4 gets my thumbs up in this category. It is the more robust tent and should see you through a number of seasons of light use. Take care packing the tent away and it could last for many years. Don't worry about taking it out it does look like being wet. There is a fly and an inner as on a conventional tent. You only need be careful when the winds get up and the less rigid pole structure moves a bit more than normal. Also in the running, the Twister 4 is worth ... Continued
