Best Beach Shelter

A best Beach shelter needs to be:
  • light and easy to carry;
  • quick to set up;
  • a shield against the sun and wind; and
  • a place to change with some privacy.
Fortunately, beach shelters are inexpensive and so there's no great need to consider price. If you want one at all then you may as well get the best.

To my mind, the best thought out beach shelter is the Coleman Sundome. This has an unusual shape for the ground sheet.; that is, until you realize that the top zips down to give you some security for your things whilst off swimming (or whatever). The angles are not to steep and so light winds should be shed off easily. A small window keeps you in touch with events on the other side.

Royal offer Beach Tent C which is perhaps the best on offer for a family. Kids are more prone to wanting privacy when changing and this one gives them that, and plenty of room besides. It might just be a bit unstable if the wind is too strong - but then you would probably choose another activity that day anyway.
