Tent suppliers: Gear Zone

Gear Zone are a Norwich-based independent supplier offering walk-in and website customers a full range of outdoor equipment. Their shop goes by the name of Venturesport and is located at 17 Westlegate, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 3LT. Telephone: 01603 613 378.

They offer a price match guarantee, "even against other e-tailers". With a bold statement like that, it is certainly worth checking their site to see if they stock the item you want.

They claim to dispatch 98% of orders placed before 12:00 on that same day. That's pretty good, although you probably won't being buying a tent at the last minute. Surely not!

The main points to note are:
  • Delivery should be within 5 working days. If this is not going to happen they will attempt to contact you
  • Delivery must be to an address where someone is available to sign for it. There are extra charges for re-routing.
  • Postage is charged at a flat rate of £3.95 per order for the mainland, £7.50 for Offshore UK destinations and BFPO
  • Goods can be returned within 14 days if new and unused (except undergarments!)
  • Damaged goods should be reported within 7 days
A review of feedback online shows that there are a few disgruntled customers out there; typically, goods not arriving from stock as indicated. The number of such complaints wasn't huge, and all companies get some of those. The company have announced that they have addressed these issues and it will be interesting to see if such feedback becomes history.
